It is bright and displays an oily appearance in the glass.Dating back as far as 1879, this Blend, created by Gordon Graham & Co, a family business from Aberdeen, has enjoyed incredible succeess (especially in Scotland) ever since it first appeared on the market. Its bottle is without doubt somewhat of a novelty, but it is the talent of its creators in using the very best Islay malt in an otherwise already well-balanced blend, that has given Black Bottle its outstanding reputation. After a great deal of ups and downs over the course of the 20th century, Black Bottle is today proudly owned by Burn Stewart and has managed to rediscover its initial legendary composition. The malts that constitute Black Bottle ( at least 40%) are derived exclusively from 7 different Islay distilleries. But in what quantities…that is a closely guarded secret!

The Pink flower-and-hearts pattern on the carton is a perfect contrast to the bottle. "We didn't just treat the box as a shipping container—we used it to reinforce the product's positioning and tell its story a bit more," says Jerome Berard, president of Berard Associates. The company handled all design work for the fragrance. "The graphics on the box add a little romance. It is meant to convey the image of it being a secret scent from a magical garden," says Berard. Flowers and hearts were also used as the cover art and inside of the meet mark. magalog (the brand's catalog).
